The Reading Festival Entry
((2003-08-27 - 3:06 p.m.))

...oh what can i do i still need you but i don't want you now...

This is The Reading Entry (TM) folks and I'm sure you have all been hanging on to read it. That is how rivoting it will be, obviously.

Firstly getting there and coming home was as smooth as a baby's bottom. Ohh yeh. The worst bit was trying to find somewhere to set up our tent. It was hard in that there was limited space. Veryyyy limited space. Haha.

Then me and Hannah had a cracker eating competition. I won... after nearly choking on the first cracker, mainly because I just shoved the whole cracker in my mouth instead of taking it vaguely slowly. Oh and you weren't allowed a drink. Damn.

On the first day I saw The Darkness and Placebo, they both rocked my world. Well.. not my world but they rocked certainly. Placebo were amazing so that evening during Blink 182 I bought a Placebo t-shirt. While buying this t-shirt... I heard the lead singer of Blink 182 shout out (this is true) "We're gonna play you a new song now. It's so new... YOU WON'T KNOW IT!" State the obvious dumbarse.

So yeh. Complete lack of brain cells being shared between all of those guys in Blink 182.

We stayed up til... five that morning (or I did) because Muhit phoned and didn't get off the phone... blah blah blah. Hahaha.

The second day was a good day for Hannah. I slept a couple of times just randomly in the middle of this big Radio 1 tent because I'd had little sleep.

I decided to try and charge my phone (and Hannah needed her phone charged too) and since Orange had set up a tent where you could charge yer phone we thought why not? We waited one and a half hours. Had to go back two hours later to collect our phones. MY PHONE WAS NOT EVEN CHARGED. Damn the Orange network. Damn it to hell. In the evening I saw Blur (the headlining act) that night and they were realllyyy good.

The third day was possibly the most interesting day of them all. I saw System of a Down (OH FUCK YEH!) and during their performance a bottle fight broke out to the right of me. Haha, it was fun to watch. A security guard tried to stop it but he just got all the bottles thrown at him so he stormed off all pissed and annoyed. Bless. Also a huge bottle of orange juice landed in front of me and was then thrown at this boy's chest because he thought he was being 'big' and 'clever' by standing up. No. Not during System of a Down you fuckhead.

Urm. Metallica were reallyyy good. *thumbs up*

Then at night we tried to stay awake all night so we could leave early and get home and stuff. We decided to go for a walk. We found out we were right next to (but not in) the weirdo quarter of the campsite. We got stopped so this guy could strip for his... he actually just pulled down his trousers. Yeh. Don't ask.

Oh and these two drunk guys followed us telling us tehre was a friend who wanted to pull that night so would I go back to their tent to 'check him out' or not? Haha. Hannah freaked out so we had to leave. =)

Then there was Jim. He walked over to the side to pee and instead fell into the barbed wire and just.. kinda.. hung there for about half a minute before getting up, peeing and staggering back to his tent. Where you could hear his friends ask him if the wire was rusty, and then it was OH SHIT YOU'RE BLEEDING. You need a tetanus jab man. And Jim just said fuck off to all of them. Class.

Overall a shitload of fun.

...just to be one you and i...
